Vermont

We went to Sharon Vermont, the Birthplace of the Prophet Joseph Smith. They have a beautiful memorial with a visitors center on top of the place where the Smith family home once stood. There was also a campground right next door called Camp Joseph that we got to camp at for a few days until a troop of boy scouts came and took over! It was Beautiful and we loved Camping.

There was a hot air balloon festival in town when we were there and it was Amazing! We even got to walk inside a balloon that was tethered down we all loved it!

The balloons starting to inflate!

There was a little pond that was stocked by the church that we were aloud to fish at, so we did and at the very end I caught a fish that we tried to release, but the fish didn't make it and then I felt really bad for killing the poor thing for nothing because we weren't going to eat it.
***I would just like to publicly apologize for killing you little fish!!! I'm Sorry!***
We got to stop by the Ben and Jerry's factory on our way to Maine!!
It was really fun and they gave out samples of their new flavor! Can't beat that :)

Pennsylvania

The Donovans are Cool enough to be related to people who own a time share and we are just cool enough to know the Donovans who graciously shared their good fortune with us and allowed us to stay in this marvelous condo for the week!

It had the craziest bathtub I had ever seen!!!
Some of that Brotherly love... and Helpin Daddy build, or try to build a fire!
We found Jungle animals that had escaped from Africa... or somewhere!
There was a swimming pool at the bottom of our hill that we all adored and played at often, and look what I found climbing back up the hill!!
The Donovans got to come up for the last weekend so we threw them a fireworks display to welcome them!!

Happy 2nd Birthday CoraLynn!!

We were in the midst of traveling during Cora's birthday so we had a few little parties for her instead of one big one. We were incharge of Co-op the week before her birthday so we decided to have a princess party with all the co-op kids... slightly forgetting that they were mainly boys, Hannah wasn't able to make it so it was Cora and four other boys having a princess party... not to worry they all loved it, we even had to put up the tea set from Grandma because it caused so many fights.

My attempt at a barbie cake

We were in Pennsylvania for her actual birthday so we got an Icecream cake and celebrated all over again! Cora choose a "pretty" Minnie Mouse dress and was so excited to wear it. Every time she sees it she shouts "Mi pitty dess!!"

We love our Beautiful lil 2 yr old!!! She is such a doll and a joy to have around; from the moment she shouts "I waked up!" in the morning, to rock-a -bye baby and "spread mi blankt" at night.
We Love you CoraLynn!

Washington, June 2010

We have been wanting to do Washington for awhile now and were excited to be there up until we realized that Izaac and Museums/quiet places just don't mix too well... Washington has a LOT of Museum/Quiet places... it was a challenge but we still saw a lot.

Don't be fooled by the happy people in the foreground What the photographer was really aiming for were the cops on bikes that he thought were the coolest, we are just there to make it not look as weird...
and Justice by a Justice statue!
Cool Watering Hole
We are being trees... Can you tell?? Izaac was so excited to have a butterfly land on him that he forgot to stand still for it to stay very long, we all really enjoyed the butterfly garden and it just so happened that on Tuesdays it was free! (we were there on a Tuesday!)
Kiss?
The President didn't want us to visit his house, something about suspicious packages, but I'm pretty sure he just heard Izaac screaming through all the other buildings.
Lincoln Memorial
Vietnam Memorial, This was one of my Favourites!

The Arlington National Cemetery. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was so humbling and sobering to watch as a guard stood watch. It is perfectly silent and all you can hear is the stomp of his step or the clink of his gun as he marches back and forth in perfect time.
And the best part of any trip is the Hotel room. My kids found the drawers particularly interesting at this one and probably would have slept there if I had let them!
and Izaac's bubble glasses! He was so proud to hop out of the tub and show us these.
