oh, that little boy...

Well when Izaac turned three I thought "Hooray!! no more terrible twos! " but oh was I wrong... but this is not to focus on the things that drive me crazy about that little boy (such as when he pours out two tubes of sparkles all over his room covering Himself and Cora despite all attempts to scrub everything down we are all still glittery after a week or so)
But I wanted to write a few stories to remind myself of all the adorable things he does and says every day!

We don't touch toilet seats with our hands just our bums...bums are good to touch toilet seats with

I: Mom I don't want Mary to go home I want her to come home with us.
M: well maybe Mary can come over and babysit you soon so mom and dad can go to the temple.
I: I want Mary and you to stay home together and me to go out on a date.
M: oh, who would you go on a date with?
I: Cora
M: And what would you do on your date?
I: Buy some new underwear.

I: Mom I want us to get a baby.
M: oh, and where would we get a baby from?
I: we could look for a babies mommy and then take the baby.
M: I think the babies mommy would be very sad if we did that.
I: oh I guess that wouldn't be very nice.

Workers are good heroes, they make everything good!

Izaac's favourite adjective is Soakin - it can mean, lots, significantly or really. As in it is Soakin windy.

Izaac is well aware that we don't talk about bums or poop unless we are in the bathroom and will often remind me... "Mom we don't talk about bums here..." (When Cora and I were giggling about her biting the bum off a animal cracker in church,,) quite right little man... well the other day Justice was getting him ready for a bath... IN the bathroom and he says, in a cheery voice, "Hey dad, wanna talk about bums?" "What would we say about them" "Well, we can talk about bums, or poop!"

I guess there are perks to being American, you don't see and John A Macdonald masks around...

gettin out now and again

The winter has already been a long one,,, even though it started in January instead of October like it does back home,,, but being stuck in our house for more then a month with nowhere to go but the grocery store,,, and you can only do that so many times,,, has started to wear on us and I finally saw the sun shining through the window and it beckoned us out! It may have been snow covered but it was a nice walk on the boardwalk and to the park. and they only started to whine near the end :)

Snow Day!!!

The dental school schedule keeps getting more hectic by the day and Justice often has late nights one of which was this Wednesday where he pulled an all-nighter studying for a test but thankfully When we woke the next morning we found the City blanked in about 14in of snow and none of the busses running!!! It was a beautiful thing we slept in till 9 and then had a lovely breakfast before getting all bundled up and heading out to shovel all our snow with all the neighbors.

The kids played outside while we worked Cora sat at the end of the driveway and ate the snow while Izaac complained that we weren't making an igloo so I tried to appease him by making a quick hole looking thing in the great wall that was being constructed out of snow between us and our neighbours... but moms are so not cool enough and my tiny hole didn't impress him... Thankfully Dads are sooo cool!!!
Justice relived his glory days of winter camping and after he finished shoveling he built a proper snow cave while Izaac stood out side with his hands in his pockets. When he went in the cave he said... Where is the kitchen? Lil Stinker,

It was pretty cool and we could fit all of us in it when he was done:)

Playing through the winter

Winter is ever so long and we seem to get bored a lot so we have been trying to find ways to entertain ourselves... so among days of making cupcakes, and painting pictures, we get to play with friends and make ourselves beautiful for the coming spring :)
